![]() ![]() Torchlight series is more modern and better tested. well they clamped me down from even trying. WildTangent and then the distributor issues. But, I don't know how reliable or good the reviews etc was. It was made after, supposedly allowed more levels or progression and was about as full featured as having all of Fate 1-3 volumes together. So, I could imagine that some Fate issues might crop up in a Steam version, depending on source and with the Steam overlay etc kludge.įate: Undiscovered Realms I never tried. Some Fate cds in some stores were just bad, you could not get them to work. This was also partially the case with the Encore version of Torchlight where the registration app caused some issues. I know that original Fate 1-3 versions varied depending on distribution or publisher causing issues. I got the sense before that Fate is a touch more buggy on modern set-ups, even prior to reading this thread. Both are cartoonish, almost all the main features, from pets to pets being able to return to town and sell are otherwise identical, as discussed earlier in the thread. Fate starts off with a bit more of a childish enemy feel, like mushrooms versus Torchlight where you have kobolds, I think. In Fate, your character is larger compared to the average dungeon room than in Torchlight, so the feel is a bit different. ![]() Something unsaid is that Torchlight series has better inventory management and that gear and costume upgrades more often show on your character than in Fate Series. ![]() I'd say Torchlight I and/or II is the better way to go, when on sale.
